The
idea of Once Upon a Myth is to allow artists of all flavours a chance
to exhibit work based on a central theme for the exhibition.
The effect being that visitors to the exhibition recieve a
wide
variety of art to view and possibly purchase. The first Once Upon
A Myth exhibition held at The
Stuart House in Liskeard from 25/3/13 to 6/4/13. The
event received stupendous support, thank you. It had over 200
visitors with
over 55 exhibits from over 20 artists, with many sales of artists work.
It also recieved wonderfull local press coverage. A big thank you to
the Cornish Times and The Gazette.
The
theme for the exhibition was a Myth or Legend. Each participating
artist was allowed to contribute up to three peices in any media they
wish but each peice must be inspired from or depict a myth or
legend.
Some general pictures of the first event.
As
the site deveolpes it is intended to show pictures of the artists work
they contributed and links to relavent web sites (subject to artist
approval).
This idea was conceived by Debby Jones, a Liskeard resident
who organised the first
event.
She is the Manager and Senior Partner of Tiger
Treats of Looe a sweet
shop in The Quay, East Looe. She also when time permits is a volunteer
in the Stuart House and it's cafe.
